April events:

14th (Thurs) 6:30pm

7-MILE LEAGUE EVENT

This will be a joint competition with Sleaford Striders whose members will be running from Sleaford to the lay-by at the start; our event will run as normal. Their fastest runner (based upon previous performances) will be 'paired' with our slowest rider; other runners/riders paired in the same manner leaving their slowest being paired with our fastest. The resulting joint times of runner/rider will then be calculated to produce the winning 'team'.

Riders/helpers have all been invited to return to the Striders' clubroom at Elsaford Park (on Boston Road) not only for a prize presentation but food too! We understand that curry and chilli con carne dishes are likely to be available (free of charge) – and there's a bar for liquid refreshments. Changing rooms/showers available for your use.

This novel event has been instigated at the Striders' suggestion – it will not affect out 7-mile league in any way, so do turn up and ride as usual. Please also come along to their clubroom afterwards – we need to show our appreciation for the efforts the Striders have put into organising this event. It would show us in very bad light (and probably deter any future contact) if very few took up their kind offer.

Thank you – from your Committee.

With the new leagues kicking off this week, we thought it timely to remind all riders of a few guidelines when participating in club trials!

Not all riders are experienced, and when some one "U Turns" or even turns right at the start/finish, this may be copied by a less experienced rider and may not work out quite as well for them.

So please walk across or ride up to the roundabout and back to the start.

We are not the only road users when events are taking place. Please keep the road clear for other users when waiting to start, (preferably completely off the road and certainly not in pairs) or when setting up in the lay-by. If you expect car drivers to respect you, you should respect them.

And remember; no rear light no ride (not applicable to open events)

Hi all

Sunday's clubrun route attached. Please print yourself a copy of the route.

As the formula seems to work, Clubrun pace and protocol on the way out and short run splits on the way back for those who want a faster paced return leg.

Cheers

Dave

Hi Folks,
By now hopefully you will all have been perusing your  CTT Handbook and planning what events you aim to ride during 2011.
Well here is one that you may wish to make a note of. Easter Saturday April 23rd kick off 2pm, (Click for entry form) is the date for the popular Sleaford Wheelers/Chandlers/Mitsubishi/Solo Club Sleaford, Charity Open10 mile Time Trial.
Seasonal prizes will again be donated to this event.  All income after necessary expenses will be passed to the club's chosen Charity, Cancer Research UK. Last years event raised over £800 for this deserving cause.
Course C10/10 is no drag strip but can on its day produce some pretty quick times. Jim Coleman won last year in 21-32. One of the three 21 minute rides that afternoon from a record field of 95 riders. With Easter three weeks later this year, hopefully the weather will be just a little warmer. Could Jim's Course Record of 20-54 be under threat?
                 Entries should be sent to:

Doug Laidlow,
17 Fen Road,
Little Hale,
Sleaford,
Lincs.
NG34 9BD.

(01529) 461018.

Closing date is 6pm Tuesday 12th April.  Entry Fee is £7-50.
Cheques payable to D. Laidlow.

I look forward again to receiving a bumper entry.

Raffle prizes are required for the Charity Easter 10 – in aid of Cancer Research

To all Riders! The 2 up is coming up soon (14th May)

This is an LRRA event which we need as many riders out as possible, can you start pairing up and let Dennis or Malc know if you are riding!

Hi folks

Just to confirm that the early 10 is this coming Sunday 3rd - 10.00am start  - so there will be no formal clubrun on that day.  If you are not riding, please contact Linda Foster urgently (01526 304863) as she is looking for marshals.

AND don't forget that entries have to be in before next Tuesday for the LRRA Middlemarkers 25 on 17 April.  If you can ride and don't enter this, Dennis amongst others will be on your case!

Entries (£7:00) to: J.Nicholson. 34 Highfield Road, Saxilby, Lincoln, LN1 2QP.

Cheers

Dave

 Hi
Just a reminder that on the 16th April we have the Barkston Heath Circuit races. Click for info
This is a new venture on a self-contained 1 mile circuit we have used previously for coaching/races. Its primarily aimed at Youth riders but we are also trying a 3/4 category event as there is an obvious shortage of events in the East Midlands. If we get the support then we will look at promoting more events on this circuit, if not, well at least we tried.
I currrently have a total of 19 Youth riders and 17 senior riders pre-entered, hopefully we will see quite a few entries on the line, but if you could circulate the details to your memebers as a reminder that would be great
many thanks
Simon Cocker
