Well done to Phil Harrison for a fourth-place finish in the Masters National Track Cycling Championships 500m in a time of 38.702. Good luck in the next round of National Championships and the World Championships.
Well done to all those that completed the C2C2C on a blistering hot day and anyone that has been led astray on one of Richard Hamblin’s epic rides.
Well done to Graham Pemberton, and anyone else, for completing the Chase the Sun event 205 miles), an epic ride.
A reminder that there is a summer social ride planned for Saturday 18th of July. This will follow the same format as the Wednesday evening social rides but starting at 10:00 from the Horseshoes and aiming for return at 13:00 for a buffet lunch, subsidised by the Club; whatever you choose to drink will not be subsidised. Please let us know you are coming via email or Facebook so we can confirm numbers with the Horseshoes.
This is the last planned Jet Ride so the Committee has decided that any member that enters can claim £5 back from the Club on proof of payment.
You are probably all aware by now that the Tour of Britain is coming to Lincolnshire in September. Stage 1, on Wednesday 2 September starts and finishes in Lincoln, Stage 2, on Thursday 3rd September starts in Boston and finishes in Skegness.
Watch out for future posts on where we set up the Sleaford Wheelers support station(s).
Next year will also see the Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift come to the UK. The men’s race is set to start in Edinburgh, with the women’s in Leeds; more chances to go and support some great racing.
Don’t forget we are hoping to run some Track Day sessions later this year, if you haven’t informed me already but you are interested then please let me know. Currently, we have limited numbers so the costs per session per person would be approximately £30, if we can get mor people attending the cost would reduce to the level we charged last year (£20).
As ever, full details are on the Club Website and Facebook Posts
Enjoy your cycling
