Sponsorship Renewal

The Committee are pleased to announce that SHD Composites has agreed to extend their sponsorship of the Club for a further 3 years; we are delighted that they have done so and look forward to promoting the Club and SHD in the local community. To mark the occasion, we are updating the Club Photo. This will take place on Sunday 13th September at 09:00 outside the SHD premises on Pride Pkwy. This will take place before the club rides on the day and all members are encouraged to wear club kit for the photo (and all club rides!).

Committee Positions

The following positions are becoming available after this year’s AGM in November: Welfare Officer, Treasurer. Please let Rob or me know if you are interested in these roles.

Welfare Officer

Sally Cragg is stepping down after 10 years as Club Welfare Officer (CWO) for the Club and Go-Ride, this is an essential role to keep our British Cycling validation. We would like a Female and a Male member to become a CWO.

As a CWO you will need: a DBS Check completed via British Cycling; to complete the Safe Wheel safeguarding course, provided by British Cycling; to ensure that your DBS and safeguarding training is renewed every 3 years. The full terms of reference for this role are located here: https://www.britishcycling.org.uk/zuvvi/media/bc_files/coaching/2019/CWO_Role_Description_Mara_Moujaes_1.pdf

Sally was also the Go-Ride Secretary and Treasurer; however, Sam Turner has stepped forward to fill this role.

The Committee thanks Sally for her outstanding contribution to the running of the Club.

Treasurer

Dave Marshall is stepping down as Club Treasurer after the AGM. This is a key role in keeping the Club running effectively. The role requires a commitment of approximately 5 hours per month; knowledge of on-line banking and MS Excel is an advantage. Typical duties are reviewing monthly incomings and outgoings, paying bills and preparing the accounts for external auditing.

The Committee thanks Dave for his positive contribution to the management of the Club.

Jet Ride 2026

A reminder that this year is the last planned Jet Ride so it would be great to see the Wheelers well represented and don’t forget that any member that enters can claim £5 back from the Club on proof of payment.
