Lil’s Lavendar Hut

Many of you will know Lil’s as one of our most popular coffee stops. We are pleased to announce that Lil’s are also offering support to the Club this year and will be supporting specific events throughout the year, look out for the prizes and donations that they will be providing us. Don’t forget to try the fish-finger sandwiches with a fried egg and barbeque sauce, a game changer!

Mountain Biking

Well done to all those that have taken part in the MTB series at Walesby. There were some great results from the Wheelers and our Go-Riders continue to impress. Notable achievements from Dave Burton who won the series, Debs Draper for 3rd overall and Esme Turner for her 3rd place overall, especially as she was racing up an age group. Look out for the summer series starting in May.

Time Trials

Don’t forget our Time Trial series kicks off on the 29th of March with the early 10, see you at the start line for a short burst of fun.

Audax Rides

An Audax is a long-distance cycling event that uses a system of timed checkpoints to validate and record the rides. Audax races are organised by clubs and individuals, under the supervision of Audax UK, the internationally recognised long-distance cycling association in the UK. 2

Audax UK are keen to recruit more ladies to this ride format. These are a cheaper option to sportives and are growing in popularity, follow this link for more information on audax rides Home| Audax UK – The Long Distance Cyclists’ Association

Pot Holes

The scourge of our roads and you will all be aware of how bad they are now.

According to Cycling UK, Councils rely on inspection regimes and public reports to identify hazards and to decide what needs fixing soonest. If you report a pothole, it is far more likely to be repaired, you help councils target limited resources and you create a record of knowledge.

One of the easiest ways to report a road defect is by using Cycling UK’s Fill That Hole Tool, it automatically sends a report to the relevant highway authority. You can also report via council websites.
