Sleaford Wheelers Cycling Club sees its last 10-mile Time Trial of the season with the Championship 10 Thursday 31 July 2025.
There is usually a good turnout at these events of around 20 Riders and tonight one of our original members Malc Yates 71 will be riding. It will be 60 years since his first time trail at the young age of 11 years which he rode in the first year of the club’s formation in 1965. Although Malc keeps himself active on the clubs social and Saga rides he hasn’t ridden a time trail in over 20 years and will be the only original member of the club still racing.
Rob Frisby Sleaford Wheelers Club Chairman said “He is delighted that Malc is dusting off his time trail bike and looking to show some of the younger members how it’s done. Let’s see if Malc can break the time he did all those years ago!
The Time Trail starts at 7pm on the nationally recognised 10-mile course starting on the A15 near Silk Willoughby riding out to the A52 roundabout at Osbournby and back. A time trail is a race against a clock with individual riders setting off at 1-minute intervals usually on an “out and back course” with the event governed by Cycling Time Trials (CTT).
I’m sure there will be a good turnout and support for all riders especially Malc at this event.
