Club Rides

Current Policy for SWCC Group Rides (14th Sept 2020)

Cycling UK and British Cycling both now state that group rides in England are restricted to a maximum of six participants, in line with current Government guidelines. Multiple groups of six are permissible, as long as theses groups do not come into contact with one another.
In order to comply with these rules the committee has agreed the following “Group Ride Policy” for all members of Sleaford Wheelers:

  • Members may organise their own group rides with a maximum of 6 participants.
  • We advise that organisers choose their own meeting place (not the Market Place) to avoid groups coming into contact with each other.
  • Rides may be advertised on the Sleaford Wheelers CC facebook page but the meeting place must not be stated. All arrangements should be communicated privately.
  • All current Government Covid 19 Guidelines should be followed at all times and if you are symptomatic you should not turn up for a ride.

If anyone would like to set up or join a ride but doesn’t use our facebook page, please contact our club seretary Juiie Close (details on the contact page) and she will help you to make contact with other members.
The committee will review the situation as things develop.
We hope that you will understand our decisions and hope that the situation will improve before too long,
If you have any questions, concerns or suggestions please get back to our club seretary Juiie Close (details on the contact page).
Keep safe everyone and enjoy your cycling,

The beautiful Lincolnshire countryside is the backdrop to our Sunday Club runs and they're a great way to explore the area and discover routes and places you may not have ridden to before. We meet at the market place in Sleaford on most Sundays at around 9.00 am and leave promptly at 9.15 am.

We often have three, sometimes four groups to cater for riders' abilities and we're happy for you to try the club run for a couple of weeks to see if it's for you. To carry on riding with us after that, we'd expect you to become a member of SWCC. If you have not been on a SWCC club ride before, please contact us in advance to talk about your experience, your bike and your expectations so that you can be advised which ride to join and what to expect.

Under 18s are welcome to join our rides, but for insurance purposes all under 18 year olds will need to have completed a parental permission form.
Under 13s will need to be accompanied by their parent or guardian as well as having completed a parental permission form.

Please note: Helmets must be worn on all club rides and mudguards are compulsory during winter months (October to March).
