Reliability Ride

Due to unprecedented demand there will be another of our very successful reliability rides this coming Sunday (24th).
The plan is to all meet in the Market Place 9:00am as usual and then either stagger the starts or all set off together (together looks good) There will be two massively overlapping routes plus a much gentler social ride for those less energetically inclined (or just getting back on your bike).

The main (Cappuccino) ride will embrace a south Sleaford 40 mile route, but for those of you who feel a little more like a “double shot espresso” there is the opportunity to test your legs on an extra 10 miles of Lincolnshire’s finest byways.  All rides terminating at our newly affiliated HQ, Sleaford Rugby Club (possibly for refreshments).

The “Latte” ride will most certainly be a very gentle social ride, with time to take in a café stop and get to The Rugby Club (hopefully) in time to gaze in awe and wonder at the strength and determination of the other club riders.

The rides can be found here for Strava buffs or I have attached files for you to set up your Garmin. Otherwise maybe someone will know where to go!

LRRA Dinner Saturday 6th Feb

 Reliability Ride
After a brilliant turn out last time there will be another of our very successful reliability rides this coming Sunday (28th).
The plan is to all meet in the Market Place 9:00am as usual and then all set off together. There will be one main route Cappuccino) of about 50 miles, but those with somewhat more enthusiasm will be able to whiz off on "power loops" to stretch their legs (see Espresso). Hopefully all will arrive back safely at the Horseshoes. Meanwhile for those thinking of something a little less energetic there will be the usual social ride of a little over 20 miles and a Cafe stop (Latte). (Riding speed about 12MPH, but with a couple of extra loops for the more adventurous).

To transfer the routes to your Garmin  click export and choose TCX. Copy the files to your “new files” folder on your Garmin, when you fire up your Garmin it should change it to a course automatically.

Hello to you all,
                      I wish you all a safe and Successful 2016. Hopefully a part of your programme of events to ride will be the Sleaford wheelers CC (Charity) 10 mile TT to be held under the Rules and Regulations of Cycling Time Trials on Saturday 26th March.
                     This event held on the popular C10/10 single carriageway course has attracted over 100 entries in recent years with a record entry of 129 riders on the Start Sheet last season. The course record of 20:18 is held by George Atkins.
                     This event will once again support Cancer Research UK. Last year Sleaford Wheelers CC had the pleasure of passing on £1348 to this very worthy cause.
                      The entry fee is £8:00 and the closing date is Tuesday 15th March. Internet Entry is available (Here) and is now up and running. Postal entries are also welcome and should be sent to:

Breaking News:

Following on from the hugely successful and world famous first 2 rounds of the ladies only 7 (nearly 8) mile TT series it has been decided to continue to run a ladies league in tandem with the remaining 10 mile TT's (It's just like the 7's only a bit longer with a downhill start and finish)

This will be open to all ladies of any club and those ladies who want to "have a go" without committing to a club (Note: you can ride 2 events before you have to join a CTT affiliated club and for the remainder of the season full membership of Sleaford Wheelers is a bargain at just £10)

There are 8 events left (including the championship 10) where ladies can pick up points (your best 5 results will count) for both scratch results and handicap times. Prizes are likely to be awarded for points winners, fastest single ride, fastest novice ride and junior/juvenile awards.

Ladies of Sleaford Wheelers will continue to pick up points for the main league as well as the ladies league.

HQ is at The Horseshoes, start times vary as the season progresses so signing on closes 15 minutes before the start time. The race secretary is usually at the HQ from 5pm ish. Cost £3 for members and 2nd claim and £4 for non-members.
