Sleaford Wheelers Newsletter October 2026

Well Dones

  • Georgia Lancaster for racing with the elites of the cycling world.
  • Steve Martin for cycling the length of Portugal, 650 miles with 45,000 ft of climbing, what an adventure.
  • Dennis for his cyclo-cross award (and anyone else crazy enough to tackle Cyclo-cross, especially the Go-Riders!).
  • Congratulations to Phil Harrison for becoming British Champion in the 500m TT, a great achievement and a PB to go along with it.

Committee Positions

Treasurer

This is a key role in keeping the Club running effectively. The role requires a commitment of

approximately 5 hours per month; knowledge of on-line banking and MS Excel is an advantage.

Typical duties are reviewing monthly incomings and outgoings, paying bills and preparing the

accounts for external auditing. Please let Rob or me know if you are interested in this role.

TT/Race Secretary

After 3 years Harry and Sophie are standing down from organising the TTs. The Committee would

like to thank them for their outstanding organisation and dedication in ensuring the TTs were a great

success.

If anyone would like to volunteer to organise the TTs next year it would be greatly appreciated.

Please let Rob or me know if you do.

Track Days

Unfortunately, we have had to cancel the Track Days for the remainder of this year due to low

numbers. Hopefully, we will be able to run some sessions in the New Year and get some benefit from

the age group British Champion.

AGM

This year’s AGM will take place on Monday 16th November at Silk Willoughby Village Hall

commencing at 19:30. If you would like to add an item for discussion, then please let me know. Draft

agenda and proposed additions (Expense Policy and Trophies/Awards) to the Constitution are

attached for review.

Awards Night

The Award’s Night will be held in the Solo Club on 28th November. Full details to follow. If you

received a Trophy last year, and haven’t returned it yet, then please return to Jase Parr as soon as

possible. He can be contacted on 07968435346 to arrange drop off.
